Moira has been a personal finance journalist for 20 years. She joined Moneywise in January 2016 from Investors Chronicle magazine at the Financial Times group, where she was for eight years.

As personal finance editor of Investors Chronicle, Moira was responsible for overseeing personal finance content online, in blogs, video, podcasts and in print.  She won the Harold Wincott Personal Finance Journalist of the Year award for her work in 2012.

Prior to that, Moira worked for Money Observer, Guardian Weekly and several specialist titles. Before starting her journalism career, she read Classics at Cambridge University.

Moira has written two books: Finance at 40 and Saving and Investing for Children and is a regular contributor to TV and radio programmes, including BBC Radio Wales and BBC1’s Right on the Money. 

Moira is passionate about educating children about money, making her daughters save up to buy special toys and do jobs around the home in return for pocket money.
