I wonder which of these two is the more arrogant and unhelpful.
I am treasurer of a local society which collects small quantities of coin (last week it was £3.40), and our account is at Nationwide. They refuse to accept coin, unless it is up to £10, and bagged separately in full bags, which makes it difficult. They confirmed that to me in a letter. The account always has a healthy balance.
Our local NatWest, the only bank in the small town where I live, has reduced its hours to opening twice a week, and then for just four hours each Monday and Friday. I tried twice yesterday to pay in a cheque but the queues were such that I wondered if they breached Health and Safety rules. I gave up and will have to go five miles away.
Whatever happened to service ?
