An Arsenal fan has appealed for help in searching for a hypnotist, as his six-year-old son has become a Tottenham Hotspur fan.
This is despite coming from a family of lifelong Arsenal fans. The request for a hypnotist was made on odd jobs site Bark.com.
Bark says that as of yet no one has responded to the beleaguered dad’s request for help, and so is appealing to the wider public for someone who might be able to hypnotise his son out of his pro-Spurs ways.
The man says his son became keen on Spurs after watching star striker Harry Kane win the Golden Boot at last year’s World Cup.
Since then the boy has been convinced by schoolmates that Spurs is the way to go, and his dad is not happy.
He says: “I know this probably seems really over the top, but I just want my son to share my passion for football and be able to share it with me, rather than be pitched against each other every time the North London Derby comes around.”
The avid Gooner goes on: “I’ve recently got a bit of a bonus from work and for the hypnotist who manages to this I’ve got around £3,000 waiting for them – I haven’t told my wife I’m doing this by the way, figured it’ll be easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.”
The request was posted on Bark.com a site that specialises in matching people with odd jobs that need doing with others willing to do them. Moneywise has previously reported on oddball things that people offer to pay others to do for them on Bark.
Kai Feller, Bark.com co-founder, says: “People love to argue about sport, especially when family members support different teams. We don’t know if it’s even possible to change someone’s loyalty like this, but hopefully someone will be able to help out this father and unite the family in their support of Arsenal!”
