Looking for a bargain Easter break? 10 destinations where prices are plummeting

Holidaymakers looking for a quick getaway over Easter can find some great deals on flights in certain destinations.

Between Easter 2018 and this Easter coming, some destinations have seen flight prices drop by nearly a quarter, according to travel booking site Kayak.

Number one on Kayak’s list is Warsaw, where flight prices have dropped by 24% since last Easter. A flight to the Polish capital now costs £105 on average.

This is followed by Austrian capital Vienna (pictured, top), where flight deals have dropped from £196 last year to £150 on average now.

Other destinations where flight costs are dropping include Porto (-18%) Bordeaux (-16%) and Arrecife (-16%).

Most popular destinations

Amsterdam and Barcelona top the list of most popular destinations according to Kayak. And this is not good for flight costs.

Amsterdam’s flight prices are up 7% year-on-year, while Barcelona’s flights have increased in price by 18%.

Lisbon however is the third most popular, while prices have also dropped 7%.

As for hotel prices, Agadir in Morocco has seen prices drop by 45% in 12 months from a typical £72 to just £42 on average.

Amsterdam hotel prices have increased 23% to £173 on average.

"Many travellers book cheap flights but then get caught out with high-season accommodation costs, so we’ve looked into our data to share inspiration for hotels too.

“Those willing to go a bit further this Easter - for example to Agadir in Morocco - can find cheaper accommodation and get a good hit of sunshine.”
