Funny money: get paid £20 an hour to enter competitions for others

People looking to make some extra cash can sign up to a service and enter competitions on behalf of others.

The website,, says you can expect to earn around £20 an hour as you enter competitions on behalf of others.  It does caveat however that prices change depending on the needs of clients.

Bark is an “online services marketplace”. It says it has launched the competition entering service for “time-strapped consumers” who want to pay others to enter competitions for them.

As a professional competition enterer you would be required to search for competitions online, in newspapers and magazines, and on social media.

People wishing to pay others to enter competitions for them would need to provide guidelines of what they want, and personal details to enter the competition.

Earlier in the year Bark set up a service on its site offering paid work collecting McDonalds Monopoly stickers on behalf of others.

The site offers services such as building, catering, cleaning, counselling, personal training, photography, plumbing and other professional services.

Kai Feller, co-founder of, comments: “We’ve launched other bespoke services over the last 12 months for people who want something slightly unconventional. They’ve gone so well that we’re open to quirkier ones that will assist consumers in all areas of their lives.

“Members of the public can win so many different prizes with competitions; holidays, technology, money – pretty much anything, but the main obstacle is putting time and effort into it. Professional ‘compers’ are even able to quit their jobs and enter competitions for themselves full-time.

“This is where Pro Competition Enterers can help. They will be able to put the time and effort required into entering competitions and hopefully, win prizes for their clients. As the saying goes, you’ve got to be in it, to win it.”

Of course, there are two competitions you can enter straight away, a city break in Southampton, or a copy of The DIY Investor by Andy Bell, on the Moneywise competitions page.
