Earn bonus points with Morrisons when you bring your own containers to the meat and fish counter.
What’s the deal exactly?
Bring your own containers to the butcher and fishmonger in Morrisons stores and you’ll earn 100 Morrisons More loyalty points each time.
Shoppers using their own container will be given a sticker to scan at the till and gain the bonus.
Why should I care?
For every 100 points you earn, you’ll earn 10p. This may not sound a lot, but it’s an effective interest rate on your spending of 0.5%.
Plus, if you’re earning 100 points every time you buy meat or fish it will eventually add up.
Once you hit 5,000 points, you’ll get a £5 Morrisons voucher to spend in-store.
Normally with the Morrisons More membership, you earn five points for every £1 spent in-store or per litre of fuel.
What’s the catch?
Once you earn a voucher you have 56 weeks to spend it. The 100-point bonus deal lasts until 22 July.
The vouchers can’t be spent on fuel, carrier bags, cashback, fireworks, the lottery, online games and instant tickets, tobacco, tobacco-related products, prescription medicines and pharmacy services, infant milk or formula, gift vouchers, gift cards, mobile phone cards, mobile phone vouchers, E top-ups, bonus stamps, postage stamps, saver stamps, photo processing, car park tickets, dry cleaning, online delivery charges and vending machines.
What are the other options?
In a previous deal of the week, Moneywise highlighted a similar summer promotion that runs until 14 July with Nectar. Here, you can turbocharge your Nectar point collection at a variety of retailers.
Tesco also offers a 25% bonus on Clubcard points if you spend through the Tesco Pay+ app. This deal is valid until the end of 2018. Unfortunately Tesco recently slashed the value of Clubcard points, making the redemption of valuable vouchers with participating retailers more difficult. See our Tesco Pay+ deal of the week for more info on this.
