Owl is the Winnie-the-Pooh character that best reflects readers' personal finances

Wise old Owl is the character from A. A. Milne’s popular Winnie-the-Pooh series that best reflects Moneywise.co.uk users’ feelings about their personal finances.

The results from our latest poll follow Chancellor Philip Hammond joking that he feels "positively Tigger-like" about the UK economy in his Spring Statement earlier this month.

However, only 13% of Moneywise readers agreed with Mr Hammond’s enthusiastic sentiment by selecting Tigger, with nearly a third of those who voted (32%) plumping instead for cautious Owl.

Next up came rather gloomy and pessimistic Eeyore with 17% of the votes, with bumbling title character Winnie-the-Pooh scooping one in 10 (10%) votes.

Picking up fewer than 10% of the votes each were cheerful Christopher Robin (9%), sensible Kanga (5%), timid Piglet (5%), ‘smart alec’ Rabbit (5%), and inquisitive little Roo (2%).

‘Other’ made up 3% of the votes, with readers perhaps feeling their finances are akin to a cheerful Heffalump or a sly Woozle?

See the pie chart below for the full poll results.
