Deal of the week: See the latest films for a fiver at Vue – including on weekends

16 February 2018

Film fans can watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters and Oscar nominated films for less at Vue cinemas across the country.

What’s the deal?

Cinema chain Vue is offering £4.99 tickets to every film, every day of the week, including weekends, at 23 of its cinemas, located across Great Britain.

The offer applies to all showings at the following 23 cinemas; Aberdeen, Barrow, Bury, Cheshire Oaks, Cleveleys, Darlington, Farnborough, Gateshead, Halifax, Hamilton, Hartlepool, Hull, Lancaster, Livingston, Manchester Lowry, Manchester Printworks, Norwich, Merthyr, Romford, Southport, Swansea, Thanet and York.

This is an ongoing offer, meaning you can see your favourite films this weekend and throughout the year.

Why should I care?

It is half term for many families and current films such as Coco and Maze Runner: The Death Cure are likely to prove popular among children, teenagers and parents alike.

This offer also applies to the latest releases, including the new Marvel superhero film, Black Panther, which is also in cinemas now.

Offers like this can cut the cost of a family day out significantly.

What’s the catch?

This £4.99 price applies to all tickets types, including adults, children, senior citizens and students. However, if you book online, you’ll have to pay a 75p fee per ticket. Buy in the cinema itself to avoid paying this fee.

This offer only covers regular 2D film screenings. Any 3D, music, opera or theatre screenings are not covered and will be charged differently depending on the event and the cinema.

What are my other options?

Lots of cinemas have special days where they offer discounted prices. Especially midweek or at other off-peak times.

You can also use the Meerkat Movies scheme to get two-for-one tickets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a year when you take out an insurance policy via price comparison site Compare The Market.

Read the Moneywise guide to cutting the cost of visiting the cinema for more information and other money saving tips.

Where can I find out more?

You can see films, times and book tickets at the Vue website.
