Fans of the Colonel are in for a treat as this week’s ‘finger lickin’ good’ deal involves two free chicken wings, plus free fries every Friday.
What’s the deal?
New members who sign up to KFC’s Colonel’s Club loyalty scheme can get a one-off two free hot wings, while both new and existing members of the Colonel Club can get free fries every Friday until 5 November.
The loyalty scheme is free to join, just go in-store and get a loyalty card (you can also sign up to the scheme online but you’ll still need to go in-store to pick up and register the card) or download the app on Android or Apple devices.
Once you’ve done this, to get the free hot wings and fries you simply need to go into a restaurant and ask for the offer. You’ll need to show your loyalty card or app as proof that you’re a member of the Colonel’s Club.
There is no minimum spend to get either offer, although KFC reckons you won’t be able to resist a ‘Zinger Burger’, a ‘Mighty Bucket For One’, or even its new ‘Texas Ranch burger’.
Why should I care?
Fries normally cost 99p and two hot wings normally cost 99p too, so this deal offers a saving of 99p on hot wings and of £11.88 on fries assuming you get the free fries every Friday, including today, until the offer expires on 5 November.
The loyalty scheme is also worth joining in itself if you’re a Kentucky Fried Chicken fan. Every time you make a purchase of between £3 and £15 you earn one stamp, while purchases of £15 or over accrue two stamps.
These stamps are accrued for rewards - three stamps get you a free side (currently you’ll get the three stamps awarded on joining, which can be redeemed for the free hot wings), seven stamps get you a free snack, and 11 stamps get your £5 off.
Once you’ve collected and redeemed 11 stamps your rewards are re-set. Stamps only last one year.
Students who have a valid Student Beans ID can also get 15% off KFC if they join the Colonel’s Club.
What’s the catch?
You must be aged 13 or over to join the loyalty scheme.
You can’t redeem the free fries and the free hot wings deal on the same day – these offers must be redeemed on different days.
What other options do I have?
Fast-food chain McDonalds has a McCafe loyalty scheme where you get a free hot drink once you’ve bought six, but it doesn’t have a food equivalent.
Burger King doesn’t have a rewards scheme either, although you can download vouchers from its website to get discounted items and meals.
