Three in 10 Moneywise users would try home staging to sell a property

Three in 10 (29%) Moneywise.co.uk users would consider using a home staging firm to try and sell their property, according to our latest poll results.

Home staging is where you hire a company to stage and decorate your property to lure in potential buyers. It could also mean you get a lot more when you sell. Online property portal Rightmove says staged homes sell for 8% more than non-staged ones.

Our latest poll results reveal that 29% who’ve not used a home staging firm before would consider using one to sell their home in future.

A further 1% of respondents who have used a home staging firm in the past would also use one again. However, an additional 1% who’ve used a home staging firm previously wouldn’t use one in the future.

The overwhelming majority (69%) of voters said they’ve not used a home staging firm and they wouldn’t use one in future.

For those who’d rather use their own tricks to clinch a sale, we’ve rounded up Five ways to home stage on a shoestring.
