Deal of the week: save £20 on Amazon Prime membership

30 June 2017

New customers can get one year’s Amazon Prime membership for £59, if they sign up before 3 July 2017.

What’s the deal exactly?

Amazon is offering £20 off its Prime subscription service for new customers. This brings down the cost in the first year to £59, instead of the usual £79.

Users must sign up using this link to get the discounted price.

Why should I care?

Amazon Prime membership has two primary benefits. The first, is that subscribers receive unlimited next day delivery on items sold by Amazon.

Prime users in the areas of Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London and Manchester are also eligible for same day delivery on around one million items.

Members also get free access to a range of films, music and television programmes through the Amazon website. This includes The Grand Tour, the new programme from Jeremy Clarkson and the former Top Gear team.

What’s the catch?

Amazon Prime is a subscription service so you will be automatically charged £79 each year for continuing your membership. Make a note in your diary and remember to cancel if you don’t want to pay the higher price next year.

This offer is also only available to new customers, so people who are already subscribers are not eligible for the discount. Those who have previously subscribed to Amazon Prime and subsequently cancelled are also eligible for the offer, as they are considered new customers.

The deal runs until 23:59 on 3 July 2017.

What other options do I have?

If you’re a student, you can get all the benefits of Prime by subscribing to Amazon Student. This is free for six months and then costs £39 per year afterwards. Full details of this are available on the Amazon Student website.

Where can I find out more?
