Over three quarters (77%) of Moneywise.co.uk users would use or have already used an online estate agent.

We asked the question in our latest poll, given the rise in online estate agents springing up to compete with traditional high street brands.

Online agents act much like traditional high street brands and can value your property, take professional pictures, draw floorplans and list your home on the main property websites,
such as Zoopla, Rightmove and Primelocation.

But the main difference is that online agents charge a fixed fee rather than commission, although you are also left to manage your own viewings and, in some cases, the negotiations.

Of the 497 people who voted, 10% said they’d already used an online estate agent to sell a property, 2% had already used an online estate agent to buy a property, and a whopping 65% said they’d not used an online estate agent before but they’d consider it in future for both buying and selling.

Just over two in 10 (23%) said they wouldn’t consider using an online estate agent over a traditional agent for buying or selling.

What do MONEYWISE Landords think about using an online only letting agent? Have you collated any figures on this? WOuld be good to see a comparison of sales vs. rent givn the rise in Generation Rent and the expectation that today's graduates are unlikely to own their own properties until well into their 30s/40s/50s and some may never get there!
