Holidaymakers looking to beat the winter blues by booking a trip abroad should consider checking out easyJet’s new flight sale.
What’s the deal exactly?
Airline easyJet is offering a 20% discount on 400,000 seats from airports across the UK. Prices to foreign destinations start from £22.49 and discounted routes include London Gatwick to Milan in Italy, Bristol to Geneva in Switzerland, Manchester to Hamburg in Germany and Edinburgh to Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
Why should I care?
If you’re planning a trip abroad anyway, book early is always advised as flight prices typically increase as the departure date gets closer. Plus an extra 20% off the ticket price means you have more cash left over to save or to take for holiday spending.
What’s the catch?
The number of discounted seats is limited and the sale ends at midnight on 12 January. The sale covers departures between 1 February and 5 July, so peak summer holiday dates are not covered.
Also, most easyJet routes fly between European airports, meaning those looking to travel further afield will need to look elsewhere.
What other options do I have?
Other budget airlines are also offering discounted flights in January. Monarch is offering more than 100,000 seats at £29 until 20 January, while Jet2 has 20% off across its entire range when you book before 17 January.
For those looking for more exotic destinations, the British Airways January sale is currently live, while Thomas Cook Airlines is offering £50 off long haul return flights. Destinations include Barbados, Cape Town and Goa. Both the British Airways and Thomas Cook sales run until 31 January.
Of course, just because one airline has a sale it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s offering the cheapest ticket on the market. Use a flight comparison website, such as Kayak or Skyscanner, to check the cheapest prices.
Where can I find out more?
Full details of all destinations included, plus full terms and conditions, are available on the easyJet website.
