Taynuilt Hotel in Argyll, Scotland is offering one lucky reader and their guest the chance to
win an incredible whisky tasting experience, plus a three-course meal in their two AA Rosette restaurant and an overnight stay.

The hotel, which takes its name from the Gaelic for “house by the stream”, is set in a stunning location not far from the picturesque Taynuilt Pier and has 10 ensuite rooms, all named after Scottish lochs.

A star attraction in the north-west of Scotland for foodie travellers, Taynuilt offers an unforgettable dining experience and what it says is “the best” single malt whisky and Scottish gin selection in Argyll. The Drammery at the Taynuilt Hotel is a speciality spirit and whisky shop, stocking more than 100 single malts and hosting regular tasting events.

The winner and their guest will get to experience a flight of Scottish whiskies, walked through by resident sommelier and whisky expert David Lapsley. David will explain the journey of distilling through the Highlands and Islands, before guiding you smoothly down to the Lowlands, Islay and Campbeltown. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the history of the malts and learn why Scotland produces some of the best whisky in the world – of course, please be drink aware (

Once you’ve enjoyed your dinner and whisky-tasting session, retire for a peaceful night’s sleep in this charming countryside coaching inn before waking up to a traditional Scottish breakfast prepared by ‘one to watch’ head chef and proprietor John McNulty.

Nestled at the foot of Ben Cruachan, between Loch Etvie and Loch Awe, the Taynuilt Hotel is only 12 minutes from Oban, the gateway to the Isles, and is surrounded by a craggy vista, making this a superb base from which to explore the true wilderness of Scotland.

If you’re travelling by public transport, Taynuilt has its own train station (West Highland Line, Glasgow to Oban) and a bus stop (Glasgow to Oban route). It is also accessible by car (it is on the A85) and has its own private, free car park.
