Lloyds TSB charged me £140 for being over my overdraft limit for 4 days because I was a loyal customer! If they had rejected the payment that sent me over instead it would have only cost me £20!!!

Scottish Widows failed to give me the 10 year option price when I tried to cash...

According to Martin Lewis now is a very good time to switch.  Just remember to have a look at the actual rates you will be charged.  They're difficult to compare as they all offer discounts in different ways but the cheapest on the comparison sites are not always the cheapest!!! ...

Thanks Canarius - your words were very wise and the sale has fallen through.  Unfortunately the buyers have had their mortgage offer withdrawn as they only had a 10% deposit!  I will keep your comments for when we eventually do move though - thanks again!

The problem is most banks and other companies don't reward loyal customers any more.  I have been advised by a friend to contact my bank and ask them for the details for the Financial Ombudsman.  They might then look at giving me some of my charges back - I guess its got to...

I always look back and wish I had invested in a property to live in and then rent out when I went to university.  It's a great way to do it and although prices are pretty unsettled at the moment in the long term they should increase.

I agree - the extent to which banks apply charges can very quickly turn a difficult time for some people into an absolute nightmare!  I have seen this time and again recently in my new role as a consultant for TheClaims-Warehouse.co.uk. We might not be able to help recover unfair bank...

I know. My monthly payments have doubled for our gas. At least I'm hopefully not going to get a nasty surprise at the end of the winter! The problem is the charges went up so much in the last 18 months that many people simply haven't been paying enough. There will be a lot of people hit with big...

Are you kidding!  The supermarkets are one of the few retailers still making bumper profits.  I cut back to many value brands about 18 months ago when my husband took voluntary redundancy but they're not such good value any more.

It used to cost about 15p for a tin of value beans - it...

At least your branch did the decent thing.  Mine agreed with my argument that the charges were outrageous but then they asked me to put my complaint in writing and that's when head office got involved and referred me to the pending court case over bank charges.  As this was my first offence I...

We're not saying that we should not be charged a reasonable amount for breaking the rules but the banks apply grossly unfair charges for any minor breach.  However if they do something wrong they don't pay us for their mistakes. HSBC are actually a lot lower than LLoyds TSB who charged me £130...
