Oxfam has reported a 7% increase in sales, thanks to the credit crunch. The charity says its high street shops are experiencing a wave of new business as consumers try to beat rising prices.

Have you turned to charity shops for clothes and household goods? Or have you found other ways to cut back on your spending?

Saving - how do you do it?

I'd be interested to find out how you guys actually save, because I can't seem to do it despite all the will in the world. One of my friends is a real keen moneysaver, to the point of actually taking his own beer out on nights out! Unbelievable - but I guess he'll have the last laugh.

Any helpful day-to-day tips you could give me?

Saving Tips

Hi,

There is a great podcast on BT PodShow with John Rennie called 'Walletwatcher' that provides great money saving tips and covers topics like insurance and mortgages.

http://walletwatcher.btpodshow.com/

Thanks,

Discount/Voucher Web Sites

I thought it might be useful to let people know they can save money and earn cashbacks when buying services and good on the web.

For discounts you can use web sites such as www.hotukdeals.com, I managed to save 20% on entry prices when taking the familiy to london zoo. I can often save a few £'s or earn extra points when shopping online from Tesco. Just have a search in rleation to what you are after. Not everythingis on there and not every voucher works!

For cashbacks, you can use sites like www.quidco.com, where sites offer cash back if you link and purchase from quidco.

Your money it better of in your pockets than anyone else's!

M&S vouchers - fake or legit?

Just received an M&S voucher for 20% off my shopping this weekend - I think one of my neighbours must have posted it through th door... am a bit sceptical about these things after getting lots of fake ones in my email inbox over christmas

Does anyone know if these are real or not? Don't want to embarrass myself ifnot!

eBay

is anyone else really annoyed about eBay stopping sellers being able to leave feedback about buyers? apparently because trading has slowed downdue to disagreements between buyers and sellers over feedback, yet buyers willstill be able to leave feedback about sellers!!

I’ve been a regular eBay user for many years, and read andleave feedback for each transaction I make. Surely thisis a vital partof the eBay process for quick and reliable transactions and to spot users who abuse the system so they can be avoided.

Travelling to Poland - ATM access?

Just heard that some major scam in Poland means that all the cashpoints have been closed. Apparently some Romanian gang installed video camera above pin pads and were filming people withdeawing money!

Is this an Urban myth? I prefer to travel with my card and am about to go to Poland...
