Yes repeating 0% pay rises, rising food, fuel and travel costs not to forget job uncertainty means pennies (not pounds!) will be watched keenly this year unlike before.
Christmas would be more acceptable and made more a festive occasion if it was not celebrated as an annual event.
Most folk I know gripe about it from October but inevitably enjoy it. If it was held every 2 or 3 years or we might really make the most of it.
This however would cause trouble for the economy, which depends on us spending as much money as we possibly can for a two week period or else being frowned upon by others.
A brilliant time for bargains though!
