HMV to accept vouchers from today
HMV will accept vouchers and gift cards starting today, the music chain's administrator has announced.
Deloitte had previously said the store would not honour vouchers after it went into administration last week. But, after an angry response from customers and an assessment of HMV's financial situation, the company has said stores will now accept them.
HMV's sister store, Fopp, will also accept vouchers and gift cards.
Last week saw Tesco and Asda refund HMV gift cards bought from their shops, as well as an independent record store in Kingston offering customers with HMV vouchers 50% off.
Deloitte has also said there are some 50 buyers interested in HMV, with rumours suggesting the current owner of HMV Canada, Hilco, is frontrunner.
A property chain is a line of buyers and sellers (the “links”) who are all simultaneously involved in linked property transactions. When one transaction falls through – for instance, someone can’t get a mortgage or simply withdraws their property from sale, the entire chain breaks and all the transactions are held up or even fail entirely.
