O2 to compensate customers
Mobile phone giant O2 has announced it will be compensating all its customers affected by last week's network outage.
The seven million customers affected by the outage will receive money back in September. Customers who pay monthly will receive 10% of their July subscription costs on their September bill. Meanwhile, pay-as-you-go customers will get 10% added to their first top-up in September.
On top of this, every O2 customer, even those not affected by the network crash, will receive a £10 voucher to spend either in an O2 store or on the website.
The company has admitted that a third of its customers were affected by its network problems. Customers of Tesco Mobile, which shares the O2 network, will also receive compensation if they were affected.
