Halifax offers £100 for switching accounts

Customers who switch their current account to Halifax will receive £100 bonus.

The bonus will be transferred to you on the first day the switching process begins and to be eligible you must be a new Halifax customer. The incentive will run from 3 January until 19 February.

This deal doesn't apply on either basic or student current accounts but it is available with the Halifax reward account, which is free.

Better off

Anthony Warrington, director of Halifax current accounts, says: “We understand why people expect account switching to be hard work, but it doesn't have to be. We want to help our customers to be better off, and switching to the right bank account can do that.”

Several other providers, including First Direct, offer similar incentives for switching but generally with these accounts you will have to wait for longer until you receive the money.
