Moneywise Consumer Opinion Survey 2012

It is that time of the year again when consumers from across the UK have their say about the financial companies they support.  Who do you trust to provide you with the service and respect we all wish for?

Now in its fourth year our survey is the biggest of its kind in the UK.  It is designed to help you find the companies that provide the best customer service and great value for money.  It also exposes those companies that take short cuts – the companies you should steer clear of.  It is also designed to better understand how you the consumer make your financial decisions in order to provide you with better guidance in 2012.

The survey only takes 10 – 20 minutes to complete and this year we are offering a £1,000 cash prize as well as five vouchers of £50 each from some of your favourite retailers as an added incentive.  Each respondent will also qualify for a free copy of Moneywise magazine, the UK’s leading personal finance magazine with 21 years of helping with your finances.  Just make sure to leave your details at the end of the survey to be entered into the prize draw.

Frequently asked questions about the survey:

Q: How long does the survey take?

A:  The survey should take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete, depending on how many categories you qualify for.

Q: Who should I vote for?

A:  Vote for the largest of multinationals or the smallest of building societies – doesn’t matter the size or shape of the company provided they are looking after you. As long as a company receives a statistically relevant number of votes they qualify for the awards.

Q: What do you do with the findings?

A: We award those companies who look after their customers by making known the winners in each category. We also make known the worst providers so you know which companies to avoid. We play back some behavioural findings to you so we can all improve how we manage our finances. Findings are also made available to financial companies (should they want it) so they can better understand your frustrations and deal with your issues.

Q:  How and when are the prize winners selected?

A:  Prize winners are selected by a random draw within a month of the competition closing. Everyone who opted in to the prize draw has an equal chance of winning. Only one entry is allowed per e-mail address, and those who aren’t already opted into our newsletters will be added since this is the means by which winners will be announced.

Q:  When will I get my free magazine?

A:  Free magazine requests will be processed once a month, a few weeks before mailing out the latest edition. So you should receive your magazine at latest within two months of voting.
