?This is a useful risk-adjusted measure of actively managed fund performance. It is calculated by deducting the returns of the fund's benchmark from the fund's overall returns, then dividing the result by its tracking error. The higher the Information Ratio the better. It is generally considered that a figure of 0.5 reflects a good performance, 0.75 very good, and 1.00 outstanding.

Paul Shanta07/10/2015Paul joined Ignis Asset Management in September 2008 via the graduate scheme and has since been promoted to Portfolio Manager; he now works closely with derivatives trading and portfolio management within the Rates team. He graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a BSc Honours in Maths, Statistics and Finance in 2004. His investment experience began as a summer intern with JP Morgan Chase working within the Convertible Bonds Trading Team. He passed his IMC in December 2008 and has recently passed level 3 of the CFA examination and will complete the required four years of industry experience during 2012.
Adam Purzitsky07/10/2015Adam joined Ignis Asset Management in January 2009 as a quantitative portfolio manager from Société Générale. He began his career with Lehman Brothers in the fixed income quantitative strategies team based in London. Adam holds a PhD in economics from Princeton University, where he wrote his thesis on “Jump-Diffusion Models in Empirical Asset Pricing” and a BA in Mathematics from York University in Toronto, Canada.
