The Fund aims to achieve a positive absolute return through a combination of capital growth and income on your investment regardless of market conditions. Tracking error
?This measures the standard deviation of a fund's excess returns over the returns of an index or benchmark portfolio. As such, it can be an indication of 'riskiness' in the manager's investment style. A Tracking Error below 2 suggests a passive approach. At 3 and above the the manager will be deploying a more active investment style.

Information ratio
?This is a useful risk-adjusted measure of actively managed fund performance. It is calculated by deducting the returns of the fund's benchmark from the fund's overall returns, then dividing the result by its tracking error. The higher the Information Ratio the better. It is generally considered that a figure of 0.5 reflects a good performance, 0.75 very good, and 1.00 outstanding.

Sam Mesrour27/05/2016Sami Mesrour, CFA, Director, is Lead Portfolio Manager for BlackRock's Multi-Strategy (MuSt) Cayman hedge fund, and a member of the BlackRock Alternative Investors group. In this capacity, he is responsible for the fund’s overall risk budgeting, asset allocation and portfolio construction. Prior to his current role, Mr. Mesrour was a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for cross-asset investments in the Fixed Income Global Alpha (FIGA) hedge fund. In this role, he designed and implemented systematic and discretionary global macro trading strategies across a wide variety of capital market instruments. Mr. Mesrour was also a founding member of FIGA's risk budgeting and investment committees, and was responsible for publishing the team's market views to clients. Mr. Mesrour's service with the firm dates back to 2001, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI, he was a portfolio manager responsible for sector allocations in US active Fixed Income portfolios. Prior to this role, he was responsible for the trading of BGI's securitized credit assets and the management of short-duration fixed income portfolios. He began his career as a counterparty credit analyst. Mr. Mesrour earned a BA degree in history from Columbia University in 2000 and a Master’s degree in global history, with merit, from the London School of Economics in 2001.
