My mum and dad receive guaranteed pension credit. They are therefore in receipt of mortgage relief on the interest paid on their property and council tax benefit. The concern now is that my sister is close to losing her property if not being declared bankrupt. She has nowhere to stay and my parent’s home is the only place where she can live whilst she tries to get back on her feet. If she moves into my parent’s property will their pension credit and additional benefits be impacted upon? They really cannot afford to lose or have a reduction in any of the benefits they receive.
