Some experts believe chancellor Alistair Darling could put up the rate of VAT in this year's Budget - others are hoping he might scrap plans to hike fuel duty.

But what changes would you like to see?

Have your say on the Budget - the last before the election - in the Moneywise forum...

My husband and I would like to be able to switch our Equity ISAs into Cash ISAs without losing their tax free status. Why did the Chancellor allow Cash ISAs to be switiched into Equities but not the other way round?  The older we get the less we need/want our savings tied to the vagaries of the stock market... if we need to access the funds and can't afford to wait for the stock market to 'pick up', we not only have to risk withdrawing our investments at a loss - we also lose the tax free status on any future interest we may earn on those savings!  How unfair is that when Cash ISAs can be transferred into Equities and retain their tax free status!!  Equities are fine for those who do not need to access their money - but at our age we'd like the opportunity to move our ISA savings out of Equities and into Cash ISAs, when we feel the time is right for us, without losing their tax free status.

Why not let over sixtys with pension pots less then £20000 take it in cash. The goverment would get 20% in tax straight away, and there would be a boost in spending

I would like to see public expenditure reduced by at least 50%, yes, fifty percent. We should withdraw from foreign wars and leave the EU (which costs £120bn per annum in direct and regulatory costs).
Then the Chancellor could reduce, not raise, taxes
