According to comparison site uSwitch eight out of 10 consumers feel they pay too much when using their mobile phone abroad. Have you ever come home to a sky high bill? Have you say...

I have Talk Talk phone and broadband. They promised me that I will have 8 MB internet speed. I get less 1 MB speed. i cannot watch any video. It cannot download. To watch a 5 minutes video, I need over 50 minutes. It is just rubbish.

My phone line has huge cracking noise. I cannot hear what other party says. From 27 May 2010, my phone line is not working. I informed them. They sent an Engineer after a week. He could not do anything as the BT line needs to change. They keep sending me text message that they will update me within 48 hours. I do not hear from them even after 5 days.

Their customer service is crap. Oh Gosh! There is not point talking to them. You will be connected after minimum half an hour. They just cannot resolve the issue, instead you will waste your valuable time.

Talk Talk is just rubbish.
I would not recommend someone to take their contract.

Thank you,
Firoz

I totally agree with this comment about Taltalk they really are rubbish. I have been with them for about 3.5 years and had no major problems (except slightly low broadband speeds, and broadband dropping out from time to time) until I moved address which was a big mistake as it opened up a whole can of worms with this company.

When I spoke to robotic bimbo at the UK call centre to explain that I was moving she checked to see if there was a line at the new address which there apparently wasn't so she booked an engineer from BT Openreach to install a new line which was about to become NEW in every sense.

First, I was told that I would be charged £69.99 for the new line installation by the TalkTalk operative, which caused the Bt Engineer to fall about in laughter as I was not supposed to be charged this as an existing customer.

Second, I was given a broadband only number which would have been fine for a while except my new home was in a mobile black spot which meant I was incommunicado and cut off for a while. Then the telephone number I was given turned out to be 0200011 .... etc..in an 0208 London code area !!!

I had to live with this number for almost 5 weeks and everytime I had to call someone they just looked at their phone display and told themselves they were not going to answer on the grounds that the number just looked so dubious. I even had to put this number on my CV so I could be contactable to prospective employers while I was trying to find work! Brilliant!

Everytime I phoned talktalk I was fobbed off with some excuse that there was a fault on the exchange in the southern region and the number was due to be changed with a day or two. This went on for what seemed like an eternity, I spent hours of my time on hold only to be transferred to another department and then back and fourth to the same people again and sometimes they had no record of me whatsoever!

I was also told that the £69.99 connection fee would be waived and then 3 weeks later a 'paper' bill arrived (after I had been paperless for over 3 years and had requested to remain so!!) for over £100 including this and one months advance package & line rental fees and they still owed me £30 from my previous address. When I rang to ask that the connection fee that had bee charged to me in error be finally refunded I was told by someone at their South African call centre "oh dear sir, it will have to be credited on your next months bill." So I was to remain £70 out of pocket.

I tried to leave TalkTalk and they transferred me to customer retentions department in South Africa and a very pushy woman offered me a bank credit of the £69 connection fee and a £10 good will payment and also said she would extend the 30 day cooling off period (I only had this because the silly bimbo who had given me a new line order instead of a change of address actually did me a favour giving me the ideal bartering tool so I was in a slight position of power to say that I could leave as it was a new contract within the cooling off period and I would not be charged a termination fee)

The retention operative also finally gave me a solution to the number change problem and had now arranged for a supervisor to call me to arrange yet another engineer call out to put in a new line as she explained this was the only way to get a normal local area code number.

Two days later I received a call form their UK team to enquire if I received the letter about my number change. It HAD in fact been changed without an engineer visit and my broadband was down for 48 hours without any notice.
I'm still waiting for about 3 call backs from these idiots and having already asked 4 times

I'm still not getting paperless billing despite having requeted by phone several times and have no on-line account. I tried to change my provider within the new 30 day cooling off period and to my astonishment they have set up the number so no other provider can take it on without up to a 14 day gap of having no phone. Arrrgghhhh!!!

I just don't understand how a company of this stature can get away with being so unprofessional and having such poor customer service. I just can't wait to leave Talk Talk. Please do yourself a favour. Don't even let your worst enemies go with Talk Talk.

I had a very bad experience with talktalk telephone line & broadband servieces. From march 2009 until march 2010 one full year i suffered a lot before leaving them with the bad taste in the mouth,. Their telephone line was so bad that i could hardly hear the other person on the linel.Instead I would hear a background sound of wind howling as well as cracking noise & would experience calls drop every time i call. This was even more worse when calling international telephone numbers because call would not only drop, but bad line& a different Telphone number ID would appear on my as well as the other party's telephone hand set whether receiving or making a call. I complained to talktalk hundreds of time & asked to remedy the problem but they would put the problem down to my home telephone wiring being faulty.& asked me to call BT engineer when in fact their engineer was supposed to be doing the job. Bt engineer was eventually called in the end & he gave the clean bill of health to internal & external telephone line wiring.
At the same time i also had the problems with my Broadband. In the middle of browsing or composing email the another window would appear telling me " your session has expired"."Sign in again". Soon after signing in my composed email would disappear & to make matters worse i could never able to retrieve my email & This would happen every 10-15 minutes. I complained umpteen times only to find it land on the deaf ears. I asked for compensation in the end but one supervisor offered me meager £10 for my whole year's suffering with not only losing money but time too. I declined that offer because i found the offer very insulting. I was paying telephone bills of £60-£70 per month through diret debit in full& yet I wondered how low they could get offering such petty amount.
I decided to leave such a petty telecom service provider.

TalkTalk are totally rubbish, unhelpful. I switched from them a few years ago and they sent me a bill out of the blue despite me not being a customer of theirs.

Having read the previous comment about TalkTalk I totally agree with them, as providor they are average and their customer services is appalling. We moved house last December and we were without a telephone line for a number of weeks and we just could'nt get a responsed or make them understand our frustration regarding the situation. After a number of weeks we finally got a call back from a supervisor who agreed to waiver all charges. By that time we had signed up with BT and had a line installed within 48hrs have been problem free ever since! Just don't take their TV on demand package as thats another story!

I have been with talktalk for eleven months and have nothing but problems. Because I was late in paying my bill they put a barr on my landline, so have not been able to make calls or receive calls for over a day.As a barr was put on my phone without warning I Think I am going to leave them.
Can you advise who the best provider is.
Regards
Ron

I have joined talktalk recently and I regret that I joined. Its exactly right what u r saying. Customer service is crap and they to slow. I want to change my internet provide to another company, but I think they still will charge me for installation fees.
Is there any better broadband providers, any suggestions?
