managing your debt
Companys are still trying to sell me debt even though I'm trying to get on top of it all. Only the other day the Bank of Scotland called (an unsolicited call at that) on the pretext of giving me an update on the progress of my loan repayments. The gist of the conversation was that I had completed one year of loan repayments and would I like a top up (£1,000 upwards)? It was actually very tempting at the time (I didn't need to start making payment until after Christmas and would be paying the same monthly payments as now), but I talked myself out of it.
Even now, in the midst of the current financial climate, companies are still trying to hypnotize us into taking on more and more debt. It's obscene. If I want more credit, I'll ask for it!

The job of the corporations is to make you have debt and the credit companies love them for it - the higher the better. I don't have credit cards but they sure try to make me get them.
