Could someone please shine some light on how the government calculate their inflation figures - I read about 2% inflation in the same paper where a 15% rise in gas and electricity prices are mentioned. 4% rise in my travel cost, council tax going up, food prices, gas prices, you name it. I don't know whether I am alone on this one but my "basket of goods" has certainly increased by more than 2% this last year.
