Most of us will be feeling the pinch post-Christmas – not only from eating one mince pie too many but also from overspending during the festive season. According to a study by HSBC, the average Brit will have spent £479 on cards, presents and festive fare. But while it might be too late to salvage December’s pay cheque, you could begin the year on the up by starting a money diary.

Get 2010 off to a great start by keeping your own Money Diary. Once you've kept track of your day-to-day spending for a month or so it will be a lot clearer where your weaknesses lie and where you are able to cut back.

Download the Moneywise Money Diary now and get started.  You can also download an example of how to keep the Money Diary, with examples of everyday spending.
